The Reverend Larry Milton Truss

made his triumphant entry into Glory on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the parentage of the late Naomi- Truss Curry and Norman Truss on April 5, 1934.

Larry was known to family and friends as Rev. Truss. At an early age he accepted Christ and became a member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, and at the age of 33,  he preached his first sermon. Rev. Truss later moved to Columbiana AL and joined Union Missionary Baptist Church.

Rev. Truss was a Pastor of both Star of Bethlehem in Wilsonville, AL and Hatchett Springs in Good Water, AL. Rev. Truss later became the full time Pastor of Hatchett Springs where he pastored for 30 years until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Norman Truss, Jr., Charles Truss, James Truss, Richard Truss and Timothy Truss.

Rev. Truss leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Sis. Lois Montgomery Truss; a beloved daughter, Naomi (Larry) Gude of Shelby, AL; four sons, David Winters of Eastaboga, AL, Dexter Truss, Tracy Truss, and Quint Truss, all of Shelby, AL; a God daughter Lannell Truss of Vestavia, AL; two sisters, Jackie (Earnest) Gover of Decatur, GA, Earnestine (Michael) Bowie of Pell City, AL,  a brother Patrick (Patricia) Curry of Conley, GA;  twelve Loving Grandchildren, six great grandchildren, Brother–in Laws, Sister– in–laws, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A Celebration of the life and Legacy of Reverend Truss will be held Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Columbiana, AL with the Final Resting Place being at the Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Eastaboga, AL
