Countress Y. Threatt was born July 17, 1951 to the late Waymon L. Wallace, Sr and Eula Bell (Davis) in Harpersville, Alabama.  Countress transitioned this life peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Saturday October 31, 2020 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.  She was educated in the Shelby County School System, a graduate of W.A. Jones High School, Vincent, Alabama and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Talladega College, she furthered her education by attending University of Montevallo, University of Alabama and University of Alabama Birmingham where she received her Special Education Degree.  Countress was a retired teacher who taught in the Shelby County School System for 18 years.  She was a member of the National Education Association, Alabama Education Association, Shelby County Education Association, and a member of the Board of Directors for Clarke County Education Association.

She confessed Christ as her Savior at an early age and was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church.  She served on several auxiliaries in the church including the Usher Board, Choir, Missionary Society, Church Secretary and was instrumental in starting the Vacation Bible School for the youth in the area.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Waymon L. Wallace, Sr. and Eula Bell (Davis), sister Dr. Allene Wallace Reed, brother Dr. Waymon L. Wallace, Jr., brother- in- law; Commissioner George Dailey, nephews; Jesse Reed III and Randy Palmer.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her son Delbert L. (JoAnn) Wallace of Helena, Alabama, two grandchildren, Jordan A. Wallace and Kayla L. Wallace; two sisters, Jewel W.  Dailey of Louisville, Kentucky, Angela (Charles) Hicks of Harpersville, Alabama; two God sisters; Catherine Hall of Chelsea, Alabama, Rose Millender of Wilsonville, Alabama; one sister- in-law Gloria Wallace of Cincinnati, Ohio, seven nieces; Qwenderlyn (Reverend James) Ramsey of Endicott, New York, Jennifer (Prince) Colley of Louisville, Kentucky; Deborah Palmer of Douglasville, Georgia, Angela (Dana) Washington of Chelsea, Alabama, Arnita Hicks of Harpersville, Alabama, Lasha Hicks of Harpersville, Alabama, and Jacqueline Reed of Cincinnati, Ohio; one nephew Waymon (Wanda) Wallace MD of Cincinnati, Ohio and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 7 at 12:00 Noon on The Grounds of The Good Shepherd Funeral Home with burial at Harpersville Gardens of Memories in Harpersville, AL. Rev. Clarence Carter - Officiating.
