Queshawn Kinte’ Young was born to Pamela Young Reed on February 3, 1978 in Birmingham, AL. 

He confessed Christ at an early age under the Leadership of Rev. Harry S. Jones at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Montevallo, AL.  Queshawn rededicated his life to Christ in 2016 and was rebaptized at Morning Star Christian Church under the Leadership of Pastor Corey Salter.

Queshawn graduated from the Shelby County School System in 1996. Queshawn was a member of the Math Club, Science Club, Honor Society, Played Football, was a Boy Scout and the Marching Band. He also attended the Alabama School of Math and Science during his Junior year in Mobile, AL; Auburn University in Auburn, AL; Jefferson State Community College, Birmingham, AL and The University of Montevallo. Queshawn was such an intelligent young man that he received numerous letters from his Professors celebrating his higher than normal achievements in his classes. Queshawn’s hobbies included basketball, paintball, keeping current of the latest facts in the Guinness Book of World Records, watching Jeopardy to see if he could answer more questions than the winning contestant. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, especially spending time with the younger cousins.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories, a devoted mother, Pamela Young Reed, two sisters, Stephanie Denise Reed of St. Georges, Grenada, Taylor Nycole Reed of Birmingham AL; Two loving and devoted Grandparents Theodis and Queen Young. Devoted Aunts and Uncles, Theodis Young Jr. (Lennie), Alabaster, AL, Vanessa Young, Montevallo, AL, David Young (Monica) Fairhope, AL, Veronica Smitherman (Quenton) Montevallo, AL, Marcus Young (Celia), San Diego, CA, Ebony Sneed (Damon, Jr., Columbus, MS and Harry Long III of Hoover, AL. He was precede in death by his great-grandparents Rev. Willie T. Valentine (Annie), T.C. Young (Lillie Mae) and a great great Aunt Rev. Annie L. Kelly, and a special aunt Sheryl Long and a host of other relative and friends that will miss him dearly.

Viewing will be held Friday, August 27, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 2;00 P.M. at The Good Shepherd Chapel with interment at Montevallo Cemetery.
