Obituary

Mrs. Ada Mae Johnson was born to the late Jim and Louise Williams on Sunday, September 17, 1933, in Birmingham, Alabama where she grew up. As an adult, she moved to Centreville, Alabama where she met and married the love of her life, Mr. Percy Johnson, Sr. She was a dedicated housewife and mother of eleven children. She was an excellent cook! In her spare time, she loved reading romance novels. She also loved her word finder books. She especially loved to serve the Lord with her family at Shiloh Baptist Church where she joined when she first moved to Centreville.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Percy Johnson, Sr., her mother, Louise Williams, her father, Jim Williams, her sister, Mattie Goode, her daughter, Mary C. Johnson, and her son, James Johnson.

She departed this life on Monday, January 21, 2019, at DCH in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

She leaves to cherish her memories, Five sons; Percy (Carolyn) Johnson, Jr., Jimmy (Angela) Johnson of Largo Florida, Michael Johnson of Savannah, Georgia, Terrence Johnson, and William A. Johnson both of Centreville, Alabama. Four daughters, Juanita (William) Golston, of Mobile, Alabama, Betsy (Roger) Abercrombie of Centreville, Alabama, Sandra Johnson of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Debbie (Allen) Smith of Jemison, Alabama; sister-in-law, Louise Ward of Centreville, a brother-in-law, J.W. Goode of Detroit, Michigan. Nine Grandsons; William Golston, Jr., Allen L. Johnson, Braden Abercrombie, Brandon Abercrombie, Nathaniel Johnson, Jonathan Johnson, Percy Johnson, lll, Joshua Foster, and Caleb Foster. Eleven Granddaughters; Gloria Feagan, Jennifer Mendoza, Kristin Foster, Valerie Johnson, Erica Rutledge, LaKeisha Johnson, Kayla Johnson and Taylor R. Golston, Kimberly Johnson, Courtney Johnson and Rachel Johnson. Twelve Great grand children; Kenneth Bailey, Jr., Zoey Feagan, Jae'den Golston, Alexander Golston, Khloe Golston, unborn Baby Golston, Kaylee Johnson, Jace Johnson, Jamorian Rutledge, Josiah Rutledge, Jaxon Johnson and Chyna Johnson, and a host of nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly .

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019 at Shiloh Baptist Church in Centreville, AL with burial at Cooper Cemetery.
