Obituary

Albert Purnell Jones II was born to the parentage of Albert P. Jones, Sr. and Sharon Swain Jones on July 14, 1972 at Shelby Medical Center in Alabaster, AL.

He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Ward Chapel A.M. E. Church in Montevallo.

He was educated in the Montevallo School System where he played football though-out the years. He went on to college in Mississippi, and then returned home to the place he loved.

He met the love of his life, Carolyn Lanette Walker, and married her and her two beautiful daughters, Briana and Britany. To this union one daughter, Alyse, was born. Albert was a loving husband and wonderful father.

Albert was employed at University of Montevallo for thirteen years with the Police Department as a Fire and Safety officer. He was volunteer Fire Fighter for the City of Montevallo until his health failed him. He was a volunteer coach for baseball, softball and basketball. He loved his community, his friends and most importantly his family.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Albert J. Jones, Jr. and Mary P. Jones; Charles and Florence G. Swain, uncle and aunt, Mary Gene DuBose, Charles Charles.

He departed this life on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Brookwood Shelby Baptist Hospital in Alabaster, Alabama surrounded with love, family, firefighters, friends, co-workers.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Carolyn, Montevallo, AL; three daughters, Briana, Britany (Jacob) , Alyse; one grandson, Jaleel; Father, Albert P. (Joyce) Jones, Sr., Calera, AL., Sharon (Elvin) Todd, Birmingham, AL; Mother in law, Mary Lindley, Cleveland OH; one brother, Eric, Montevallo, AL; two sisters, Crystal and Erica, Birmingham, AL; four brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, co-workers and neighbors who shall miss him dearly.

A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Ward Chapel A.M.E. Church in Montevallo with burial at Montevallo Cemetery. Rev. Monty Royster – Officiating. Rev. Michael A. Jones – Eulogist
