Hall
June 12, 1940 – September 13, 2024
Sister Alberta Hall was born on June 12, 1940, to Howard and Leona (Hill) Belcher in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Sister Hall went home to be with our Heavenly Father on September 13th, 2024, succumbing to her injuries after a car accident. Sister Hall received Christ as her Savior at an early age at St. James Methodist Church in Columbiana, AL. She was later baptized at the Union Baptist Church in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She attended Shelby County Training School in Columbiana, and received her Nursing Certification at Berkley School of Nursing in Santa Monica, CA. Alberta loved people and spent her life working and serving others because of her love for the Lord and her love of people. Her livelihood was caring for her two sons with Robert Jones, Ronald and Jeffrey, and for the joy she received in doing for others. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Indiana, CA and Alabaster, AL. After her divorce, she returned home to Alabama, where she met and married James T. Hall Jr in September 1992. After working 10 years at Shelby Baptist Medical, she served as school nurse at Columbiana Middle School for seven years and retired in 2009. After retiring, she was always willing to do whatever she could for family, neighbors, friends, or whomever she could help. She loved Gardening, Sewing, Painting, and Reading. She leaves to cherish her memories: a loving husband of 32 years, James Thomas Hall, Jr.; two sons, Ronald Jones of Pheonix, AZ, Jeffrey (Mary) Jones of Hendersonville, TN; her grandchildren, Makiaya (whom she raised as a daughter), Torrey, Tolisha, Takeya, Maya, Reyonna; her great grandchildren, Taylor, Justin, Nevaeh, Torrey, Tyari, DeShaun Jr., Desirae, and Kynedi; Her beloved sister, Gladys Steen of Calera, AL; her sisters-in-love, Phyllis (James) Johnson of Suitland, MD, Jackie Brown of Dothan, AL, Debra McMullins of Morrow, GA; and many, many loving nieces, wonderful nephews, cousins and friends. She also had special BFFs Alma Buie Richardson (Detroit, MI), Helen Holmes (Riverside, CA) and Ollie Williams (Columbiana, AL) and a substitute mother, Mother Gladys Perkins (Shelby, AL). Alberta was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Sr. and Leona Belcher, sister, Ruby Dukes, and four brothers, Howard Jr., Amos Sr., Gilbert Sr., and Larry Belcher.
