A Life Well Lived

December 20, 1925 ~ February 6, 2021

On December 20, 1925, the world was introduced to " Annie Pearl Gilmore" . Born in Montevallo (Almont), Alabama. She was the oldest of nine children born to (the late) Leslie Gilmore and Sarah Gilmore.Annie is preceded in death by her late , brothers Leslie Gilmore, Jr., Joseph Gilmore, Harvey Gilmore, Rufus Gilmore, John Gilmore, and sister's Velma Thomas, Esther Welcome, Emma Lou Chattman.

Annie professed her faith in The Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age, at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church.

By all accounts, Annie was a clever and high-spirited child.   She received her early education at Almont Elementary and Shelby County Training School.

At the age of 18, Annie moved to Brooklyn, New York then later relocated to Detroit, Michigan where she resided much of her life. In  2015, Annie moved back to Brooklyn, New York to reside with her loving daughter Vera Hall, who preceded her in death.

Annie was a homemaker and had many talents and gifts.  She worked for years at cleaners using her gift as seamstress.  Hairdresser is another one of Annie's gifts, she worked at Jordan Beauty Shop being famous for her press and curls.

Crocheting and making quilts were also some of her past time favorites.  Many family members can say they got one of her now family heirlooms. That famous lemon pie will forever be a family favorite. She enjoyed doing her word search puzzles until her death.

Throughout her 95 years, Annie was constantly learning and interested in new experiences. Annie loved everyone and treated everyone with respect. Her memory will be cherished by all those whose lives she touched.

On February 6, 2021, Annie received her wings and transitioned to her heavenly rest.  She has taken her place in the presence of the Lord.

Left to celebrate her legacy is her daughter, Yvonne Davis (Detroit, MI), her only living sibling/sister, Willie Gilmore Bolling (Montevallo, AL) one granddaughter and two great grandsons, all of Brooklyn, New York. A host of dedicated nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Viewing will be held Friday, February 12, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at The Good Shepherd Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 12:00 Noon at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Montevallo, AL  with interment at Montevallo City Cemetery.
