Obituary

Today, we gather to honor and celebrate the life of my beloved mother, Barbara Martin Leftwich. Mom was a remarkable woman whose love and strength have shaped us in ways that words can’t truly express.

From the very beginning, she had a way of making us feel cherished and valued, no matter how old we became. Even as I grew into adulthood, she would look at me with those loving eyes and say, “I don’t care if you’re 50 years old; you’re still my baby.” That simple phrase encapsulated her unwavering love—a love that transcended age and circumstance.

My mother worked tirelessly to provide for our family. She faced challenges head-on, often sacrificing her own needs to ensure we had everything we required. Her work ethic was remarkable, a testament to her belief that family came first. She never wavered in her commitment to us, always pushing through the toughest days with grace and resilience.

Her faith in Jesus was a guiding light in her life. She taught us the importance of believing in something greater than ourselves, instilling in us values of compassion, kindness, and perseverance. Her prayers and unwavering belief were the backbone of our family, reminding us that even in the darkest times, there was always hope.

Family meant everything to her. No matter the distance or the difficulties, she never gave up on us. She nurtured our relationships, bringing us together with her warmth and unyielding support. She had an incredible ability to mend fences, to heal wounds, and to ensure that love remained at the forefront of our lives.

Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit lives on in each one of us. Her love will continue to guide us as we navigate our lives, reminding us of the strength she instilled in us and the values she cherished.

As we say goodbye, let us remember her not just for the hardships she faced, but for the incredible legacy of love, faith, and family she leaves behind. Mom, you will truly be missed, and we will carry your love with us forever.
