Bernice Woods
(Woods) Bolling
February 5, 1935 – January 15, 2021
Mrs. Bernice Woods Bolling was born to Marie Woods February 5, 1935. Lula Gary Ban (Aunt Ban) raised her. Bernice Woods was United in Holy Matrimony to her loving husband, Guss Roman Bolling, Sr. , who preceded her in death. To this union of marriage, seven children were born; three preceded her in death-- Ricky, Remona, Guss Roman Jr. (June).
She received Christ at an early age. She joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Montevallo, Alabama. She held many leading positions that she dutifully served with diligence and joy. She served as Deaconess, Trustee, President of Missionary Society, just to name a few. She was fondly known as "Granny" in the community.
At her home, on January 15, 2021, she answered God's call.
Her memories will be forever celebrated by her Children:
Son--Thomas Wesley Bolling, Cordova, Tennessee; Three daughters-- Vivian B. Bolden, Jeanie B. Todd, Darlene B. (Darryl) Watkins-- All of Montevallo, Alabama, Son-n-Law Kelvin Tood, and Glen Foster (whom she fondly called Son), Daughters-n-Law Martha Simmons, and Crystal Gurley.
Her Grandchildren: Chini Mccarter, Curtis C. Barnett, Jr., Charitie Elizabeth Tosuner, Chasitie Thompson, Rian Elijah Frazier, Asia Latrice Bolling, Christian Thomas Bolling, Christopher Douglas Todd, Shaundrian "Suki" (Patrick) Braxton, James Roman Watkins, Lionel "Metri" Watkins-- 18 Great Grands; 2 great-great grands, a host of of children that called her granny.
4 Sisters-n-Law: Louise Prentice, Ida Bolling, Min. Abbie Connell, Willie B. Bolling.
Very special friends: Ms. Elizabeth Brown Jones, Jackie Cottingham, and LaVera Dunn.
Absence of her body is presence with the Lord.
Viewing will be held Friday, January 22, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. at The Good Shepherd Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 23, 2021 on The Grounds of The Good Shepherd Funeral home at 1:00 P.M. with burial at Montevallo, Cemetery. Rev. John Adams – Officiating.
