Calvester Hawkins, Sr. was born on April 13, 1945 to the late Jewel Hawkins, Sr. and Virginia Hawkins.  He departed this life on January 1, 2021.

He was educated in the Shelby County School System and was a graduate of Prentice High School, Class of 1962.

Calvester was preceded in death by his parents, Jewel Hawkins, Sr. and Virginia Hawkins; two brothers, Erskin Hawkins, Sr. and James Henry Hawkins; one son, Calvester Hawkins, Jr.; one sister, Virginia Fay Hawkins Wooley.

He leaves to cherish his memories: three daughters, Daphne Hawkins and Alicia Faye Hawkins, Muskegon, MI, Katherine Hawkins, Pelham, AL; one son, Antonio Ramon Hawkins, Alabaster, AL; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; one brother, Jewel (Eva) Hawkins, Jr., Alabaster, AL; two sisters, Gwendolyn Hawkins Salter, NC and Juliette Montgomery, Alabaster, AL; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Hawkins, Harpersville, AL; special friends, Otis Rhine, Vonald Demoss and Terrell Hall and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who shall miss him dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 12:00 Noon at Longview Cemetery. Pastor Charles Caffey, Sr.  Officiating.
