Charita Lynn Harris McCary

born on August 18, 1957 to the late Leon and Mildred Harris in Montevallo, Alabama.  Charita Lynn was the fourth of five siblings.

She professed her faith in The Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age, at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Montevallo.

She was educated in Montevallo starting at Almont Elementary School before spending a year at Prentice High School and ending at Montevallo High School class of 1975. She went on to continue her education at Alabama Lutheran College and received an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education.

On October 30, 1984 she joined in union with Terry McCary which brought on two daughters Chaundra T. McCary of Hoover, Alabama and Terralyn C. McCary of Helena, Alabama.

Preceding her in passing are her parents,  her Mother in Law Mrs. Willie Ree McCary, father in Law,  Howard Gaddis,  Sister in Laws, Mary McCary and Oler Lee McCary.

Charita departed this life on Monday, November 23, 2020 at Grandview Medical center in Birmingham, Alabama.

She leaves to mourn her siblings; Leon Charles (Diane) Harris Forestdale, AL, Carolyn Robinson of Clinton Township, Michigan, Michael Harris of Birmingham,  AL, Beverly (Leonard) Russell of Birmingham, AL,  her  In Laws;  Ronnie (Sonjia) McCary of Montevallo, Barbara (Herman ) Bell of McCalla, Letecia (Kenny) Jones of Chesapeake, VA,  Lessie Gaddis of Alabaster, Howard(Dominique) Gaddis of Montgomery, Toney (Patrice) Gaddis of Alabaster, Letrece (David) Burt of Montevallo, Lea Gaddis of

Montevallo, Ricardo (Shantise) Gaddis of Montevallo. She also

leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lifelong friends James Salter, Sharon Gilbert and sister in law Sonjia McCary. And a very special friend, Valerie Shepard.

Charita Lynn Harris McCary cared deeply for her family and friends.  She was a sensitive, loving person who wanted the

best for everyone.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 28 at 11:00 A.M.  on The Grounds of The Good Shepherd Funeral Home with burial at Montevallo Cemetery. Viewing will be Friday Nov. 27 from 4:00 P.M. -6:00 P.M. Rev. John Adams – Officiating.
