Mr. Clifford Joe DuBose, Sr.  of Montevallo passed away on Oct. 2. Funeral service will be held Sat. Oct 12 at 1:00 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church with burial at Montevallo City Cemetery. Mr. Dubose affectionally known as "Pop' & "Duby" was 3B Out fielder with the Memphis Red Socks, and The Birmingham Black Barons from 1957-1959. He was inducted into he Negro League Hall of Fame in Kansas City in Sept. 2003 and was also inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame. He was a member of Pilgrest Rest Baptist Church in Montevallo. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Mary Jones; two daughters, Betty Jean Taylor and Marcie DuBose; three sons Clifford, Jr (April), Marlon(Shaketa) and Chansler(Quintessa), eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and other relatives. The body will repose at the funeral home on Friday Oct. 11 from 1:00 p.m. -6:00p.m.
