David Tarver,
Jr.
September 15, 1948 – October 30, 2021
David Tarver, Jr. was born to the late David Tarver Sr. and Willie Mae Stacy Tarver on September 15, 1948, in Centreville, Alabama.
David went to School at H.D. Davidson School in Centreville, Alabama. Later in life David joined the Armed Forces of the United States of America and was rewarded with an Honorable Discharge in January, 1977. After the Army, he was a lifeguard at the YMCA. He also worked as a Maintenance man at Chapel Oak. David worked at Linden Wood Cemetery for fifteen years. David retired from Fort Wayne Industries Engineers in 2002 of ten years. David was a man with many different talents.
Slim enjoyed dancing and watching old western movies. Slim and the love of his life, Pauline, moved to Fort Wayne Indiana in 1973, where five children were born.
David was preceded in death by the love of his life, Pauline Ross; parents, David Tarver and Willie Mae Stacy Tarver; granddaughter, Dominque M. Mitchell; sisters, Bobbie Jean Tarver and Hattie Tarver, Diane Tarver; brothers, John Henry Jones, Frankie Lee Rutledge.
He leaves to cherish his memory, three daughters, Diane (William) Ross-Chapman, Andrea Ross, both of Fort Wayne, IN, Catherine Ann Tarver, Baton Rouge LA; two sons, David (Katrika) Ross III, Leon Ross (Jenny Lee), Fort Wayne, IN ; three sisters, Adele Grifin, Lillie Mae Ross, Betty (Calvin) Tarver, both of Centreville, AL, and Billie Joe (Robert) Childs, Brent, AL; one brother, Billy (Lois) Tarver, Fort Wayne, IN; one uncle, Walter Tarver, Pensacola, FL; two aunts; Auntie Curtise Stacy, Centreville, AL, Emma Stacy, Florida; twenty seven grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren, one great, great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and other relatives and friends who shall miss him.
Viewing will be held Friday, November 5, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. at The Good Shepherd.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at The Good Shepherd.
