Mr. Walter Earl Paschel

Was born on September 23, 1942 to the late Mr. Rufus Paschel and Mrs. Mary Paschel.

Walter attended and graduated from Prentice High School in Montevallo, AL. Afterwards, he joined the United States Army and served his time- to be released with an honorable discharge. Later he was employed at ABC Rail in Calera, AL where he was dedicated and hardworking until he retired.

Walter united in H oly M atrimony to Alvenia Elizabeth Moore Paschel and in this union he was a loving father to five children.

On December 6, 1996, Walter remarried in H oly M atrimony to the love of his life, Lelia Elaine Tripp Paschel, in which he became a loving step-father to three children.

Walter was a kind and beautiful soul, an humble man, and truly loved his family and friends. He was soft-spoken and always had an encouraging word to share. He is well-known by everyone at making that guitar talk! He also enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to play and was their inspiration for the love of music! His legacy will live on through them!!!

Walter confessed Christ as his L ord and Savior at an early age and joined Everdale Missionary Baptis t Church in Montevallo, Alabama. On May 16, 1999 he was ordained as a Deacon. He was faithful in his many duties as a leader in the church and as an anointed musician playing the guitar. Music was his passion!

Later in 2005, Walter and Lelia moved to Calera, Alabama and united with New Mt. Moriah Baptist Church where he continued to serve as Deacon and guitarist until his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Rufus and Mrs. Mary Paschel; brothers Hubie Paschel and Marion Paschel; sisters, Clevie Brown, Joyce Lee, Shirley Lofton and Annie B. Simms.

Walter was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February, 22, 2018. It was a sudden and peaceful journey. Although our hearts are broken, we rejoice in knowing he's in heaven and having a wonderful time playing his guitar in the Heavenly choir!

Walter leaves to cherish his joyful memories.. A loving and devoted wife, Lelia T ripp Paschel; Five children (from first marriage)- Cynthia Moore, Aretha Paschel-Alexander, Benita Paschel, Demetrius Paschel and Judy Paschel. Three step-children (from second marriage), Shelia Tripp Reed (Barney), Belinda Tripp Norris (Thomas), and Richard Tripp Jr.; Grandchildren, Karen Hicks, Willie Hicks, Jr., Brittany Moore, Jason Alexander , Julius Alexander , Jordan Alexander and Jocelyn Alexander, Reshundra Brown (Andre), Meritio Brown, Ray Pharris, Jr., Jaden Paschel, Darius Reed, Mariah Mobley (Cyrus), Devin Reed and Adonis Tripp. Brothers, William Paschel (twin brother) and Phillip Paschel (Vivian), Sisters, Mary Sue Paschel and Madelyn Paschel; Sisters-in-law, Mattie Paschel and Barbara Paschel; Son-in-law, Jesse Alexander; several great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, March 5, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at New Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with burial at Alabama National Cemetery with Military Honors.
