Doris Fredia Gaddis was born on October 3, 1934 in Aldrich, Alabama.  She was the third of eight children born toWillie John Davis and Katye Lee Lightsey.  Doris transitioned this life, Tuesday, September 22, 2020. She was preceded in death by her late husband Howard Lee Gaddis, Sr and five siblings (Barbara Elizabeth, James Davis, Leon Davis, Robert Carthon, and Maxine Slater).  Doris accepted Christ at an early age at Epsibeth Baptist Church.  Educated in the Bibb County and Prentice High school systems, Doris and the late Howard Lee Gaddis, Sr. raised seven loving children.

She leaves to cherish her memories: seven children:  Letecia (Kenneth) Gaddis-Jones of Chesapeake, VA, Lessie Gaddis of Alabaster, AL, Howard (Dominique) Gaddis, Jr of Pike, AL, Toney (Patrice) Gaddis of Alabaster, AL, Letrece (David) Burt of Montevallo, AL, Lea Gaddis and Ricardo (Shantise) Gaddis of Montevallo, AL; sisters: Alpha Omega Patton of Montevallo, AL, Vivian Louise Davis-Clardy of Plainfield, IL, and Dorothy Carolyn (Arthur) Johnson of Birmingham, AL; one surviving brother, George Davis of Macon, GA; sisters-in-law:  Bertha Gaddis and Helen Gaddis of Alabaster, AL, Maudean Gaddis of Montevallo, AL, Gloria Carthon of Montevallo, AL, and Yvonne Davis of Detroit. MI; cousins: Carmelita Moore, Linda Antrena Dix, and Benita Brantley of Detroit, MI; fourteen wonderful grandchildren, five awesome great grandchildren  and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Homegoing Celebration will be held Friday, Oct. 2, 2020 at      2:00 Noon on the grounds of  The Good Shepherd Funeral Home,  with burial at Montevallo Cemetery.  Minister Mario Johnson Officiating.
