Dorothy Collins James was born May 9, 1947, in West Blocton, Alabama the late Reverend Ed and Rhoda Collins.

She accepted Christ at an early age, and joined the Liberty Baptist Church in West Blocton, Alabama. She met and married Joseph James Jr, and to this union three children were born.

She was preceded in death by three brothers: William, Clarence, and Alfonzo and six sisters: Maggie, Laura, Wilma, Zenobia, Wanda and Nora.

She leaves to treasure her memories: two loving and devoted daughters, Marliyn James, Tereika (Orlando) Weeks and one loving and devoted son Michael (Demetra) James. Three granddaughters Francenia James, Michiya James and London Weeks. Three grandsons Cordarius (Kathreen) James, Undraez Lilly and Orlandis Weeks, two great grandsons, Malikye James, and Mickah James. Two sisters Mattie (Harold) James, Ruth Collins of West Blocton, Alabama and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives that will forever cherish the memories shared with this beautiful soul

Viewing will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022, from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. at The Good Shepherd.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2002, at 1:00 P.M. at West Blocton Middle School West Blocton, Alabama. Interment will be at Shiny Rock, Cemetery.
