Mrs. Earlene Avery Lilly's Obituary

Earlene Avery Lilly was born to the late Edward Avery and Minnie Smitherman Avery on February 22, 1929. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Pleasant Sabine Church in Centreville, AL.

THE BEGINNING:

She united in marriage to the late, Rev. Alex Lilly and to this union nine children were born. Later in years, she moved her membership to Carlton Hill Baptist Church, in Brierfield, AL where she served to present in many capacities, including the choir, until her health declined.

She made an impact on many lives and her legend will live on forever. Her motto was simply, "It's not what you take when you leave the world behind you, it's what you leave behind when you are gone."

Sis. Earlene Avery Lilly traded her earthly life for an eternal home with Jesus, Saturday, September 24, 2022.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Rev. Alex Lilly; two sons, John Edward Lilly and Alex Wayne Lilly; one daughter, Muriel Inez Lilly Crymes; two brothers, John Edward Avery and Leroy (Bill) Avery; and two sisters, Annie Avery Clansey and Laurie Ree Avery.

She leaves to forever cherish her memories: Dorothy (George) Drake of Calera, AL, Lawrence (Catherine) Lilly of Montevallo, AL, Shelia (Johnny) Heard of Broadview, IL, Twanda (Hosea) Moore, Cheryl (Thomas) Brown, and Kelvin Earl Lilly all of Montevallo, AL, siblings: three sisters, Mary A. Pearson, Sara (Willie) Thomas both of Hartford, CT, Minnie (Joseph) Duff of St. Albany, NY; and a host of grands, great grands, and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She affectionally answered to many names, such as GG, Granny, Mama Dear, and Early Bird.
