Erma Ruth (Davis) Hudson
was born on December 26, 1935 to the late Loci Tolbert and Jessie Davis. She was the fifth child amidst five children: Rosie, Clifton, Robert and Jessie. All siblings preceded her in death except Clifton. She departed this earth on March 20, 2019 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, AL.
She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Montevallo, Alabama
Erma then set off her journey to become a seamstress at Allied Flexible (Lawn Mower Bag Assembly Company) until she later became an employee at the University of Montevallo as a cook for the students and extra-curricular events. Erma was an all around beautiful and sweet individual. She enjoyed cooking, going shopping, sewing and watching her favorite TV shows. When she wasn't doing these hobbies, you could find her studying her Bible or hear her praying out loud.
She graduated from Prentice High School in Montevallo, Alabama. Erma went on to have three daughters, Yodonna Foster (Ronell), Vonna Knight and Freeda Carson (deceased).
Erma was united in Holy Matrimony to the late William Carson. She later married the late L.C. Hudson in 1991.
Erma leaves to cherish her memories, One daughter Yodonna (Ronell) Foster, a devoted granddaughter who was her caretaker Renesha Carson (Author) Five other granddaughters, Sheree, Shelaine, Veronica Valeesha, and Victoria; Four greatgrands, Three stepchildren, Gayle, Francis and Randy; A devoted God daughter Jolinda Underwood and a devoted niece Lanora Ford and a host of relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Faith Baptist Church in Montevallo with burial at Tolbert Cemetery in Maylene. Rev. Michael Reese –Pastor/Officiating
