George Spight was born March 5, 1930, in Ripley, Mississippi, to the late Leander Spight & Sallie A. Spight (Lock).

He served in the United States Army & was honorably discharged.

He worked & retired from Chrysler Corporation in Detroit, Michigan as a Foreman.

He was preceded In death by: his mother, Sallie A. Lock; father, Leander Spight; wife, Nancy Spight; siblings, Palmer Spight, Emmer P. Edwards (Spight), Sallie L. Spight, Virginia A. Cason; stepdaughter, Mattie Taylor; and niece. Flora Jean Cooper.

He departed this life on August 15, 2024 at Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital, Farmington Hills, MI.

He is survived by: his stepson, Washington Taylor, Belleville, MI; Nephews & Nieces, Kenneth D. Johnson, Rodney V.

Johnson, Marain V. Johnson, Kimberly R. Johnson, Linda Peeples, Ama McCarter, Clifton Edwards; cousin, Lawrence Spight, Mississippi; step grandchildren, Donna S. (Richard) Anderson, Seattle, WA, Maurice D. Taylor, South Carolina, Donna Lynn Taylor, Detroit, MI, Windrick K. (Mahogany) Taylor, Detroit, MI; a host of extended family members and friends.
