Glover DuBose also known as Deek, was born June 15, 1946, to the Late Jimmie DuBose & Nettie Chaney DuBose in Montevallo, AL. Glover was the 8th child of 10 born to this union. He confessed Christ at an early age & joined the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Almont, AL. Glover was educated in Shelby County & graduated from Prentice High School in 1965 & then he relocated to Akron, OH, for a short while. Glover moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut, where he Joined East End Baptist Tabernacle. He was a member of the Male Chorus & served under the leadership of Reverend James D. Peters. He was employed with Excide Battery in Fairfield; CT. Glover was a member of a social club & the small games club. He had a passion for sports. He loved fishing & playing golf. After 18 years,he returned to Alabama in 1978, He then rejoined Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church where he was a faithful member of the choir & served as a Deacon. He was employed with Metrock Steele & wire for 27 Years. He later met the Love of his life, Clarice, & they were united in holy Matrimony for 33 wonderful years. Glover departed this life on April 30, 2024, at Brookwood Baptist Shelby in Alabaster, AL, surrounded by his family & friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie & Nettie DuBose; Six Siblings, Jimmie Jr, Mary Lee, Lamar, Clifford Sr, Margaret, Joe and Mamie; Father-in-law & mother-in-law, Samuel & Marie Purnell. He leaves to cherish his memories: a Loving & Devoted Wife, Clarice Purnell DuBose; one son, Antonio (Bridgette); one daughter, Natalie DuBose, all of Montevallo, AL; five Grandchildren, Taven, Lyriq, Aaliyah, Cordell & Jacob; One sister, Beulah Montague of Atlanta, GA; one brother, Theodore DuBose, Akron, OH; A very special & devoted Niece, Sheila (Gary) Cooper; Father-in-law, JC Sims Akron, OH; Sisters in-law, Betty DuBose & LaShawn Sims Both of Akron, OH & Norma Jean Purnell of Montevallo, AL; Brothers-in-law,Samuel (Lynn) Purnell Clarksville, TN, Steve (Niecy) Sims, Kenneth (Sylvia) Sims, Scottie Sims all of Akron, OH, Herman (Monique) Purnell, Kim Purnell & Kerry Purnell Montevallo, AL, a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, other relatives & friends.

Viewing will be held Friday, May 10, 2024, from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 11, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Montevallo, AL with Interment at Montevallo Cemetery in Montevallo, AL
