Gregory Edwards was born March 11, 1960 to Jimmy Edwards, Sr and the late Para Lee Edwards.

He graduated from Thompson High School in 1977. As a high school basketball player, Gregory and his teammates won two state championships in 1976 and 1977. Go Warriors! He was an outstanding student athlete.

Gregory was employed by Betha Corp for many years. He was baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Spirit at Emmanuel Temple Holiness Church, Alabaster, AL.

He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Mrs. Gwendolyn Smith on July 14, 2003.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Para Lee Edwards and his sister, Dorothy E. Brown.

Gregory leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife, Gwendolyn Edwards, two sons, Bernard Lacey and Antonio (Dana) Smith, one grandson, Bryson Bernard Lacey; father, Jimmy Lee Edwards, Sr; Siblings: Stella (Hugh) Johnson, Jimmy Lee (Linda) Edwards, Jr, Cora (Wilbert) Alexander, MacArthur (Dorothy) Edwards, Rodney Glenn (Connie) Brown, Denise (Jeffery) Adams and Ricky Powell, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Viewing will be held Friday, July 16, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. at The Good Shepherd.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. on The Grounds of The Good Shepherd Funeral Home with interment at Galilee Cemetery in Saginaw.
