James Moore was born to the parentage of the late Willie Hayward Moore and the late Alvenia Burns Moore on February 5, 1943 in Shelby County, Alabama.

He accepted Christ at an early age and united with Everdale Missionary Baptist Church.

He was educated in the Shelby County School System and graduated from Prentice High School. He continued his education and received a Certificate in Sheet Metal from The Shelby County Trade School.

He had a passion for baseball and karate. He had strong and sound philosophy with a positive outlook on life and was always willing and well able to stand up for what he believed in. He loved reading.

He retired from Westinghouse Corp. after working for more than thirty years.

James was preceded in death by his four sisters: Alvenia Elizabeth Moore Paschel, Natha Lee Moore, Emma Mae Moore and Rosie Lee Moore.

James departed this life on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018 at Brookwood Baptist Shelby Medical Centerin Alabaster, AL.

He leaves to cherish his memories four children: Thomas Edward (Cheryle) Brown, Mary Elizabeth (Leonard, Sr. ) Dynes, James Jerome (Dana) Moore and Sherrie (Bobby ) Spence: Four brothers, Willie J. (Willie Mae) Moore, Julius Daniel (Polly) Moore, John (Mary)Moore and Elzie Moore. Nine grandchildren: Rachel (Dee), Alicia, Atavia, Leonard, Jr. Lynnetta, Jalen, Jai Maree, Shambria and Bobby, Jr., Eight Great Grandchildren and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who shall miss him dearly.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018 at 12:00 noon at New Everdale Baptist Church in Montevallo with burial at Montevallo Cemetery.
