Jimmy Ray Merchant

affectionately known as "Dream" was born to the parentage of the late Olcie Lee Allen  and the late Georgia Merchant on Thursday, Feb. 6, 1958 in Shelby County, Alabama.

He was baptized at an early age.

He was preceded in death by: His father, Ocie Lee Allen; Mother, Georgia Merchant; five brothers, Ralph Miller, James Merchant, Donnie Merchant, Raymond Allen, Sr. and Lee Allen; Massie Lee Allen.

He departed this life on Monday, March 9, at the home of his grandchildren RayShaun and Tamia in Calera, AL.

He leaves to cherish his memories four children, Isaiah (Dominique) Bivins, Tameca (Derrick) Bivins, both of Calera, AL , and Marcus (Sunni) Green of Alabaster, AL, and Angelica( Antwaine) Kelly, of Montevallo Alabama.

Three sisters, Mary Witherspoon of Alabaster, AL, Earnestine Allen of Birmingham, AL, Gloria Tannehill of Atlanta, GA

Two brothers, Ocie Leon Merchant (Gloria) of Mississippi and David Moore of Birmingham, AL; two aunts, Mary Pickett and Alta Easley of Alabaster, AL

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, Mar. 17, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at The Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Galilee Cemetery in Saginaw. Bishop Gerry Bivins - Officiating
