JoAnn Ball was born February 1, 1970, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to the late Hattie Mae Morrow and Eliljah Morrow.
JoAnn confessed christ at an early age. She became a member of Present Truth Church in Centreville, Alabama, under the leadership of the late Dr. Calvin J. Meadows. She received her education in the Bibb County School System and graduated in 1989.
JoAnn was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. JoAnn didn't play about her grandbabies. She was there for every milestone, doctor's visit, and school event. She supported everyone and let you know that you were loved. JoAnn will be remembered for her bright smile, kind spirit, her love for Alabama football, and being the life of the party-To know her was to love her.
JoAnn made her triumphant entrance into glory on Thursday, January 1, 2026. JoAnn was preceded in death by: her father, Elijah Morrow; ner mother, Hattie Mae Morrow; two brothers, John L. Cole and Elijah Morrow Jr.; one sister, Leslie Mae Cole; her paternal grandparents, Tommie and Mary Morrow; her maternal grandparents, Johnson and Emma Lou Morgan; and one nephew, Derrick Orlando Cole.
JoAnn leaves to cherish her precious memories: her loving husband, John L. Ball of Montgomery, AL; one son, Quinton Thompson of Chestnut, AL; three daughters, Kiera (Tyrus) Manuel-Callahan of Montgomery, AL, Shameka (Jeremy) Manuel-Murphy of Pike Road, AL, Jelicia (Kevin) Manuel-Blue of Montgomery, AL; 10 grandkids, Amarion Jones, Eden Thompson, Auria Blue, Taylin Murphy, Tyriq Callahan, Kinsley Blue, Rylee Blue, Jeremy Murphy Jr., Kiersten Callahan, and Raidan Thompson; her brother, A.C. Cole of Brent, AL, three sisters: Johnnie Mae (John) Cole of Brent, AL, Annie (Lionel) Maynor of Tuscaloosa, AL, Rosemary Cole of Brent, AL and three cousins who were like sisters: Darlene (Cedric) Hayes of Maplesville, AL, Diana (James) Brown of Brent, AL, and Yolanda Morrow Rhines of Centreville, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
