John Strowder was born to the late Levi Strowder and Willie Mae Thomas on July 3, 1933.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Doris Cunningham of Montevallo, Alabama; along with her children, Kelly Cunningham, Trina Carter, Doris Maddox, Traci Melton, John Cunningham; two grandchildren, Katelin Alexander, Latonya Richie, Antwan Cunningham, and Tadarion Cunningham three sisters, Bertha Strowder, Dorsey of Dorsey Oakland, CA, Cornelia J. Strowder of Philadelphia, PA, Stefanie Strowder of Minneapolis, MN; six brothers, Jack Taylor of Montevallo, AL, Levi Strowder Jr. of Perkins, MS, Melvin Strowder of Oakland, CA, Percy Strowder (Deceased) of Minneasota, Clifton Strowder of Berkeley, CA, Les Strowder of Virginia; nephew, Curt Taylor of Montevallo, AL, along with other family and friends.

Viewing will be held Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at The Good Shepherd Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, March 19, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at The Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel with burial at  Alabama National Cemetery with Military Honors.
