Joseph Ruggerio
On Thursday, August 26,
2021 Joseph Ruggerio Jr. (Joe), devoted father and grandfather, passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 76.
Joe was born in 1944 in Birmingham, AL. He served honorably in the Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. Not many years after his honorable discharge from the service, he was hired at Perry Supply, Inc where he faithfully worked for nearly 40 years. At the time of his passing, he was still a full-time employee at Perry Supply, working in the role of Operations Manager. He was a proud father and grandfather, loyal friend and brother and a generous and trustworthy man. He was beloved by many. He enjoyed the long-time friendships he made at Perry Supply, coin collecting and spending time with his family. Most importantly he put full trust in Christ for his eternity.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother Rosalee and Father Joseph Ruggerio Sr. He is survived by his son Johnsey, granddaughter Michelle, two younger brothers Gene and Claude and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 1

, 2021 from 10:30am to 12:30pm at the Good Shephard Funeral Home located at 150 White St., Montevallo, AL 35115. Followed by a graveside funeral service at 1:15pm at the Alabama National Cemetery with Military Honors, located at 3133 Highway 119, Montevallo, AL 35115. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to any organization fighting cancer; especially childhood cancer.
