"Spud" Hudson
January 19, 1958 – October 4, 2024
Kerry Louis Hudson , better known as Spud, was born to the late Azzie Lee Hudson and Charles Gilmore Hudson on January 19, 1958, in Wilton, AL. Kerry departed this life on October 4, 2024, at The VA Medical Center, surrounded by his loved ones.
He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Wilton, AL. Kerry was a graduate of Montevallo High School. After high school, he attended Alabama State University where he then joined the United States Air Force. Kerry was known for his many skills which included construction, carpentry and plumbing. He also drove 18 wheelers for a period of time.
He was preceded in death by Grandparents: George (Eva Brown) Hudson, Willie James ( Ardella Anderson) Hicks. Jim (Lena Anderson) Hicks Sr. Aunts/Uncle: James " Skeet" Nelson, Pauline Sears, Eva Reed. Glen Brown, Jessie Hicks, Willie Hicks, Rose Poplar Thomas Hicks, and Sarah Morris.
Kerry leaves to cherish his memories, two loving children, Raphiel Harrell and Raquel Harrell both of Montevallo, AL; four siblings: two sisters; Deborah Hudson and Bridgette Wood: two brothers: Willie Hicks Sr. and Norman Hicks Nine grandchildren; Kaila(Marco)Perez, Olivia Harrell, Dakari Ray, Brooklyn Harrell, Raphiel Harrell Jr., Kassadi Ray, Chance Harrell, King Harrell and Chantyli Harrell three great grandchildren; Zayn Perez, Khasiah Ray and Mateo Perez; four nieces: Nikki Lester, Karen Hicks, Kala Wiltz and Asya Sanders; two nephews: Willie Hicks Jr. and Mitchell (Andrea)Wood ;two bonus sons: Channing Cunningham and Reggie Brown Aunts/Uncles; George Hudson, Johnny Hicks, Jimmie (Rosemary) Hicks, Sr., Reggie Morris, Annie Strong, Emma Sweeney, Betty Brown, Margaret Hicks and a host of cousins, relatives and friends who loved him dearly. Kerry will always be remembered for his jokes and kind heart.
Viewing and Visitation will be held Friday, October 11, 2024, from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M at The Good Shepherd.
Celebration of Life will be held Saturday October 12, 2024, at 12:00 Noon at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Wilton, AL. Interment on Monday, October 14, 2024, at 9:30 A.M. at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL.
