Lillie Belle Smitherman's Obituary

Lillie Belle Smitherman was born on December 20, 1936, to the late Virgil & Charity Smitherman.

She was the fourth oldest child of nine, seven of which preceded her in death.

She gained her wings May 21, 2023, at her home.

She confessed her life to Christ at an early age, at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church & later joined Faith Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Dr. William T. Evans. She served in the choir & Missionary Society faithfully until her illness.

She leaves to mourn her passing: a loving son, Michael Carl Smitherman; a loving grandson that was her devoted caregiver, Johnny Brown Jr. (Pennie); and a loving grandson, Curtis Lee Grayson; eleven great grandchildren, Derrick, Deshawn, D'Shaundra, Kadarius, Quendarius, Jada, Myiesha, Caleb, Ja'Kolby, Ja' Kylah ,& Justice; a great great grandchild, Trinity; one brother, James D. Smitherman (Maggie); one sister in law, Deloris Smitherman; her Pastors, Michael Reese II (Latoyria), Dr. Michael Reese Sr. (Icie), & Reverend Joshua Fields; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, & friend Pearlie Caldwell.

Viewing will be held Friday, May 26, 2023, from 4:00p.m. – 6:00p.m. at The Good Shepherd.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 27, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Faith Baptist Church in Montevallo with interment at Galilee Cemetery in Saginaw, AL.
