Deaconess Lois E. Green was born September 13, 1936, to the parentage of the late Henry and Maebell Elliott in Alabaster, Alabama.
She was educated in the Shelby County School System.
She confessed in Christ at an early age at Freewill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Allen. She served faithfully until her health began to fail.
She married her childhood sweetheart and friend, Deacon Price Green, Sr. on October 23, 1952. They were married for sixty years. To this union, five children were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry Elliott and Maebell Elliott; two sons, Price Green, Jr. and Danny L. Green.
She departed this life on Monday, April, 11, 2022 at the home of her daughter, Carolyn, who was her caretaker, surrounded by her family.
She leaves to cherish her memories three children, Tommy (Mary) Green, Jemison, AL, Carolyn Green Farley, Alabaster, AL, Alonzo (Debra) Green, Sr., Wilton, AL; fourteen grandchildren, Tanya (Fernando) Stoverdant, Berry (Tonya) Green, Gary Landers, Jimmy Green, Nechelle (Jermaine) Walker, Olando (Carolyn) Harris, Marlo Dowdell, Sherita Garcia, Antonio Garcia, Alonzo Green, Jr., Feleece Cook, Jackson Cohill, III, Jackie Cohill, Randy Swift; god-daughter, Polly Lavert, god-son, William Huto III; twenty one great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Marie Hawkins, Wilma Gaiters, Diane Green, Rosetta Green, Charlie Nell Green; brothers-in-law, Sylvester (Juliette) Green, Tim (Barbara) Green, Lewis (Devora) Green, Roland Green; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who shall miss her dearly.
Viewing will be held Friday, April 15, 2022 from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. at The Good Shepherd.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 12:00 Noon at Freewill Baptist Church in Alabaster with burial at Liberty Cemetery in Elliottsville.
