Lydell Gene Harris

was born to the parentage of Jessie Mae Purifoy and the late James W. Harris, Sr. on Sunday, March 26, 1972.

He confessed Christ at an early age. He was a member of Present-Truth Church under the leadership of Apostle Calvin J. Meadows.

Lydell graduated from Bibb County High School in 1991.

He was employed by Burkes Mechanical and Cahaba Veneer before becoming disabled. He coach Little League Football for several years.

He was preceded in death by his father James "Peewee" Harris, Sr.  his grandparents; Effie Mae Huckleberry, Willie Lee Driver, Thomas Larry Harris, and Katie Lee Harris, his Aunts; Betty Jo Jennings, Katherine Lucille, Helen Delois, Uncles; Thomas Lee and Jesse James; Stepfather Glen Purifoy.

He departed this life on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, AL.

Lydell leaves to cherish his memories, A loving Mother, Jessie Mae Purifoy, one brother James Harris, Jr. (Shavonda); One niece; Jayla Harris, Aunts; Rosa Brown, Tuscaloosa, AL, Bettie Jean (Steve) Simmons, Teaneck, NJ,  Magdelene (Ivey) Bryant,  Brent, AL, Mildred (Horace) Bowens, Tampa, FL, Juanita Nelson, Chicago, IL, Priscilla (Don) Mack, Centreville, AL,  Shelia (Richard) Cash, Brent, AL, and Jane Purifoy, Brent, AL.  Uncles; Authur (Berta) Harris, Brent, AL, Henry Harris,  Atlanta, GA, and Willie Lee Driver, Jr., Brent, AL, Two Great Aunts: Jessie Dean Chism, Tuscaloosa, AL and Betty James, Ft. Wayne, ID, and a host of relatives and friends aho shall miss him dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Centreville Middle School with burial at Cooper Cemetery. Apostle Calvin J. Meadows – Officiating.
