June 29, 1943 – December 22, 2020
Mrs. Marie Neely Taylor was born on Tuesday June 29, 1943. She was baptized at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Alabaster, AL at an early age. On August 16, 2020 she confessed her belief in the Death, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ for the remission of her sins.
Mother/Granny was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Jasper and her mother Mrs. Dollie Neely, her husband Johnny Lee Taylor, Sr. Her brothers, Percy Lee, Williams Genter Lee, a sister, Johnnie Mae all of Keystone, AL and her beloved son Clinton Taylor, and grandson Herman Hunter, Jr.
She was a Prentice High School student, an employee at Shelby Memorial Hospital/ dietary and Alabaster Industries for several years. Granny's favorite things to do included: cooking, baking, sharing meals and spending time of fellowship with family and friends. She enjoyed fishing, sewing and other various activities.
Mother departed this life on Tuesday, December 22, 2020. She leaves to cherish her memories loving caring children: daughter Janice Neeley, sons; Terry Taylor, Johnny (Vicki) Taylor, Tyrice (Melissa) Taylor all of Alabaster, AL. Ten grandchildren; Tiffany Hunter, Eldrick Morris, Pamela Grayson, Antwaun Mann, LaTerrius Taylor, Tresmine Taylor, London Wooley, Tremonz Taylor, Tramel Taylor; Eight great grandchildren; Garius Nabors, DaVonte Nabors, Guyen Nabors, GiAnna Nabors, Brooklynn Diming, Nyani Morris, Jayden Mann and Zaria Paschel.
Last but certainly not least to her "early morning phone calls", Flossy Posse Crew: Celestine Brown, Willie Mae Taylor, Vinnie Mae Evans, Bobbie Wilson, Cathy Calhoun, Mattie Hall, Maria Wooley; The Columbus Georgia family, Irene Tannihill, Gracie Taylor, Mary Lou Merchant and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, december 30, 2020 @ 11:00 a.m. aon The Grounds of The Good Shepherd Funeral Home with burial at Longview Cemetery in Saginaw, AL. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 29 at The Funeral Home form 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Minister Janice Neeley – Officiating
