Mary Ellen Carter's Obituary

Mary Ellen Carter was born to the parentage of the late Huey and Margaret Lollar  on November 8, 1949, in Shelby County, Alabama.

She confessed Christ at an early age.  She attended Shelby County Training School in Columbiana, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy Joe Carter; her brother, Mac  Lollar, Jr.; sister, Cornelius Cunningham Griffin.

She passed away on February 12, 2020 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center.

She leaves to cherish her memories four sons, Billy Joe Carter, Mitchell Carter, Jessie Carter, Phillip (Debra) Carter, all of Columbiana, AL; one daughter, Rebecca (George) Johnson of Calera, AL; two sisters, Jeanetta Goodman, Columbiana, AL and Nell Dennis, Clanton, AL; one brother, Mark (Christine) Lollar, Columbiana, AL; close family friend, Tylisa Pickett; four sisters-in-law, Ann (Rev. Bobby) Lacy, Columbiana, AL,  Doris (Rev. Fate) Bryant, Calera, AL, Sandra Montgomery, Gwendolyn Harris both of Columbiana, AL; Four brothers-in-law, Mack Author Simon, Jemison, AL, Anthony (Loretta) Carter, Mazell Reynolds, both of Columbiana, AL, Tommy Lee Dennis, Clanton, AL; eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and relatives and friends who shall miss her dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday  Feb. 20, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Union Baptist Church in Columbiana with burial with burial at Wallace Campbell Cemetery. Pastor Skylar Patterson Officiating.
