Mary Sue Miller was born to the late Susie and Frank Miller, Sr. On February 9, 1949 in Alabaster, AL.
Mary is a graduate of Prentice High School of Montevallo, AL class of 1967.
She received a Bachelors of Science from Alabama A&M University Huntsville, AL and a Master in Education from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI.
She was a resident of Detroit, MI. She was a teacher and retired from the Michigan School System.
Mary loved scuba diving, history and traveling. She traced her maternal roots to the Mendez Tribe in Africa and Paternal roots to the Cherokee Tribe.
Mary was a very loving and caring person. She would help anyone she could.
Her siblings: Frank Miller Jr., Eddie Lee, John Allen, Ben Earl, and Jerry Miller preceded her in death.
Mary departed this life on Friday, January 1, 2021.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Four Sisters: Betty Jean Peeples, Jo Ann Moss, Robin (Leon) Harrell all of Alabaster, AL and Delcia (Loyd) Johnson of Rochester, NY. Two Brothers: Henry and Wayne Miller of Alabaster, AL. One Sister-in-law: Johnnie Mae Miller. A Special friend: Willie Collins and friends: Nola Cooper, Arma Valdez, Queen Hall and Nancy Burns. Two special cousins: Arthur Spears of Mobile, AL and Peter Spears of Montgomery, AL. A Goddaughter: Ashley Cooper.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 1:00 P.m. on The Grounds of The Good Shepherd Funeral Home with burial at Liberty cemetery in Elliottsville. Viewing will be Tuesday, Jan. 5 from 4:00 pm. til 6:00pm at The Good Shepherd. Pastor Mary Cooper Officiating
