The Obituary

Nathaniel Morris was born on June 27, 1982 in Shelby County, AL to Mary Frances Hall and the late Willie Lee Sutton. Nathaniel made his triumphant entry into Glory on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Grandview Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his dad, Willie Sutton, brother Larry Woods, and grandparents Ruth Hall, Alfonzo Hall, and Minnie Hammick.

Nathaniel was known to family and friends as Nate, he graduated from Shelby County High School in 2002. At an early age he accepted Christ and joined Union Missionary Baptist Church in Columbiana, AL. Nate was called to preach at the age of 33 and held his first sermon on June 7, 2015. He was the Praise & Worship Leader at UMBC, saying his favorite line, "Jas did it!" In 2014 he was initiated as a member of the masons. Early within this year, Nate became an entrepreneur; starting Morris Landscaping, "Providing affordable, quality services, because your neighborhood is our neighborhood!"

Today is the day we celebrate his homegoing!

He leaves a legacy of devoted family and friends to cherish his memories: His devoted fiancé, Alexandria Adams; his loving daughters: Chloe Morris and Nakia Sweeny; A loving mother, Mary Hall; and caring sister Nickey (Christopher) Gaston. To help cherish his legacy of special memories are two nieces: Amber Woods and Arriana Dozier. Two nephews: Montairius Morris and Clinton Morris. His devoted friends, Johnny King and Rian Wilson. A host of beloved aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 14, at 1:00 p.m. at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Columbiana with burial in the churchyard cemetery. Pastor Skylar Patterson Officiating.
