Pearlie Beatrice Farrington Young

……. peacefully passed away at her home on Friday, June 29, 2018.

Pearlie was born April 8, 1933 to the late George (Bub) Farrington and Annie Laura (Cottingham) Farrington. She attended school at Bibb County Training School and was member of the Waymon Chapel A. M. E Church where she served faithfully until her health began to fail her.

She was united in marriage to the late Mr. General Lee Young on June 10, 1950. Through their union, seven children were born. She is preceded in death by her son, Jimmy L. Young and granddaughter, LaTricia M. Young.

Pearlie was a home-make, well-known for her cooking and sewing skills.

Her treasured memories will forever be shared by four sons, Rev. L. C. (Cheryl) Young, Brierfield, AL, Kenneth A. Young, Montevallo, AL, George (Sadie) Young, Wilton, AL, and Sammy (Verdell) Welch, Montevallo, AL,; one daughter, Mary Montgomery, Brierfield, AL, one daughter—in– law, Audrey Young, Montevallo, AL; three brothers, Sidney Farrington, California, Leslie Farrington and Taft Farrington, both of Wilton, AL; her only living aunt, Pearlie Spencer; ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, goddaughter, Patsy Wilson, a special nephew, Johnny Farrington, and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 7 at 12:00 Noon at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Wilton, AL with burial at Ebenezer Cemetery in Brierfield. Rev. Michael Wesley officiating.
