October 6, 1963 – July 7, 2025
Randolph Johnson was born October 6,1963, in Alabaster, AL. He was the fifth of twelve children born to Mr. James E. Johnson and Ms. Alma Harris.
Randolph was baptized at an early age by Elder William J. Fitts, Sr. at Emmanuel Temple Holiness Church, Alabaster, AL. He was well known by many in his community and a good big brother to his younger siblings.
In his early years, he attended Thompson Elementary and Middle School in Alabaster, AL, and as a young man, he worked with Massey Construction over 20 years before he retired. During this time, he and Janice Kelley welcomed two children, Randolph and Angelina Kelley, and he also helped raise his stepdaughter, Angelica Kelley. Affectionately known by his family as
"The Doctor," Randolph loved spending time with family and triends, Watching old western movies and TV shows. Most of all, he loved Alabama Crimson Tide football. Roll Tide!
He lived a full life until he departed from us on July 7,2025. Randolph was preceded in death by his father, Mr. James E. Johnson, mother, Ms. Alma Harris, brother, Ronnie Johnson; sister, Doris Ann Davis, brother-in-law,
James M. Davis and sister-in-law, Psyche "MaxI" Johnson.
This loving father and brother leaves to cherish his memories: his son, Randolph Kelley: daughter, Angelina Kelley both of Montevallo, AL; stepdaughter, Angelica Kelley of Childersburg, AL;4 brothers, Joseph Moore Jr. of Birmingham.AL, Willie James Johnson of Birmingham,AL, Rudolph (Vevera) Johnson of Fairfield, AL; Raymond (Letty) Johnson of Hueytown, AL;
2 sisters, Katherine Johnson of Sacramento,CA, Janie Mae Johnson of Dothan, AL: 3 grandchildren: 6 nephews; 2 nieces, a host of cousins, relatives, & friends.
The family of the late Randolph Johnson would like to thank the medical staff of UAB MICU unit for their loving care and kindness, the residents and staff of Bankhead Towers Apartment Community, and the Good Shepherd Funeral Home for all their kindness, compassion, and professionalism shown during our time of bereavement. May God continue to bless each of you.
