Raymond Elston Harris, Sr.

was born to the parentage of the late Edgar Harris and the late Annie Lou Moore Harris on Tuesday, October 11, 1955..

He starred as a basketball player at Montevallo High School where they won the State Championship.

Raymond lived much of his life in Birmingham, AL and moved to Montevallo in 2012 until he transitioned from this life on Saturday, October 17, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his older sister Mrs. Willie Ann Moore Bolden and Mrs. Eddie Jean Dukes.

Raymond leaves to cherish his memories three sons; Desmond Cottingham, Raymond Elston Harris, Jr. and Darius Harris.; Six sisters; Mary Stokes of Norfolk, Virginia, Deborah Cook of Charlotte NC, Annie Joe Harris, Judith Harris, Bonita Harris, and Sylvia Smith and one brother, Lawrence Harris; Nephews Kenny Bolden, John Bolden, Michael Bolden, George Burrell, Phillip Dukes, Michael Corbet, Raymond Burrell, Steve Harris, Dwayne Turner and. Antwon Batron; Nieces, Sharon Bolden, Daphne Bolden McQueen, Marietta Fields, Monica Fields Cole, Franshana Batron and a host of relatives and friends. Mr. Harris also had two special friends: Stephanie Johnson and Lenora Ford and classmate Herman Jones.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Oct. 24 at 11:00 a.m on The Grounds of The Good Shepherd Funeral Home.
