Robert James Horton 74, Born on Jan 14, 1950 - passed away on Sept 27, 2024 Robert James Horton was born January 14, 1950, in Columbiana, Alabama to the late James and Carrie Horton. He was baptized at an early age. He was a member of Saint James A.M.E. of Columbiana, Alabama. Robert graduated with the class of 1968 from Shelby County Training School. He worked at National Standard for over 20 years until they closed, then he went on to work at Moore Handley for 14 years until retirement. He was a die-hard Alabama Crimson Tide fan, but his pride and joy was his five grandsons. He truly enjoyed having them around. Robert was called home on September 27, 2024, at 5:45 AM. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Carrie Horton, his sisters Margaret Lacey and Cathleen Lacey, his brothers Alvin, Charles, and Thomas Horton. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 41 years, Geneva Horton; a son, Robert Andre' (Melody) Horton of Trussville, Alabama, and a daughter, Brandi Nicole (Robert) Anderson of Montevallo, Alabama; five grandsons: Aiden Horton, Athaniel Horton, Jasiri Anderson, Austin Horton, and Akili Anderson; two sisters: Janice Holland of Baltimore, Maryland and Mary Dean Scott of Huntersville, North Carolina; seven brothers-in-law, seven sisters-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Viewing and Visitation will be held Friday, October 4, 2024, from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M.

Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 12:00 Noon at Pleasant Chapel A.M.E. Church in Saginaw with interment at Wallace Campbell Cemetery ibn Columbiana.
