Sandra Russell Billings was born on Tuesday March 6, 1955 in Birmingham, AL to the late John Russell and Leslie Peeples Taylor. She received her Associate ' s Degree from Jefferson State Community College in Early Childhood Education and retired after thirty years as a preschool teacher. She confessed Christ as her Savior at an early age and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church for most of her life.

Sandra was united in Holy Matrimony to William Billings on July 18, 1975. This union was blessed with the care and upbringing of two children, Kiana and Torey.

Sandra transitioned this life into a new one on Friday March 29, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones.

Sandra ' s memory will be forever cherished by a loving and devoted husband, William Billings, Helena, AL; one daughter, Kiana Billings Coleman (Marcus), Helena, AL; one son, William " Torey " Billings (Kim), Alabaster, AL; twin granddaughters, Morgan and Maddie and one grandson, Chance; six sisters, Debra Williams, Montevallo, AL; Brenda Russell, Birmingham, AL; Sherrie Gildon, Helena, AL; Carolyn Russell, Hoover, AL; Delores Taylor (Harry), Jemison, AL; Patricia Glover (George), Tuscaloosa, AL; three brothers, John Russell, Birmingham, AL; Frederick Russell, Helena, AL; Anthony Taylor (Tara), Alabaster, AL. She had five sisters-in-laws; Mozetta Rose (Ronnie), Birmingham, AL; Mary Cooper, Helena, AL; Annette Billings, Helena, AL; Christine Scott (Randolph), Helena, AL; Gertrude Smith (who preceded her in death); six brothers-in-law, Cleophus Billings (Anita), Mason Billings (Saundra), Helena, AL; Bobby Billings (Virginia), Helena, AL; David Billings (Demetria), Helena, AL; Leon Billings (who preceded her in death); Larry Gildon (who preceded her in death) a special Aunt Linda Jones and a  host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday April 6, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church 5320 Helena Road, Helena, AL with burial at Liberty Cemetery in Elliottsville, AL. - Rev. Edwin Dinkins –Pastor/Officiating.
