Shirley Dean Fields was born to Rosa Marie Fields and Marion Goode on September 23, 1958. Shirley dedicated her life to Christ and joined Green Chapel Baptist Church at an early age. She attended Montevallo High School and served in the United States Army National Guard. Her life's work was providing home healthcare services to those in need. She was preceded in death by: her father, Marion Goode; sisters, Angela Moore, Annie Goode, and Ava Gayle Goode and her bonus father, Lewis "LC" Young.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her Mother, Rosa Fields; Two children, Aireal (Stacey) Goins, Andronikia Ward; Eight grandchildren, Shakerial Goins, Kam'Ron Goins, Ayanna Goins, Kha'Mara Goins, Kennese Goins, Amauri Goins, MaKenna Ward, Legend Lilly; A Great-granddaughter, Karsyn Goins; Sister, Sylvia Goode; brother, Barry Goode; a host of nieces, nephews, other family, friends and Special Friend, Walter Moore.
