Thompson Mitchell's Obituary

Mr. Thompson Mitchell son of the Late Mr. James Bruford Mitchell Sr. and the late

Mrs. Clara (Campbell) Mitchell Pitts was born on November 3, 1948 in Maplesville

(Chilton, County) Alabama.

He attended the Prentice High School in Montevallo, AL

He joined the Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Montevallo, AL, later he

Moved to Pittsburgh, PA. There he joined the Homewood Church of Christ 7700

Hamilton, Ave. Pittsburgh, Pa under the leadership of Pastor Robert E. Benson,

where he attended until his health would not allow him to.

He was united in marriage to Mrs. Diana Adams, on October 27, 1990.

Thompson earthly journey was complete on Monday April 18, 2022 at the Monroeville

Rehabilitation and Wellness Center in Pittsburgh, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. James Bruford Mitchell Sr. and his mother

Mrs. Clara (Campbell) Mitchell Pitts, and two brothers; Mr. Vernon Mitchell, and Mr.

James Bruford Mitchell Jr., one stepdaughter Kia Saunders, and one nephew Mr.

Jermaine Bruford Mitchell.

Mr. Thompson Mitchell leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted and loving wife Mrs.

Diana Mitchell of Pittsburgh, PA; one daughter Elder Frieda Jolena Harris of Pittsburgh,

PA; and two sons Korey Mitchell of Pittsburgh, PA and Thompson Mitchell Jr. of Utah,

Cassandra Clemons and Keita Lee of Pittsburgh, PA and stepdaughter Yolanda Saunders

Pettway (Anthony); Two brothers Min. Issac (Christine) Mitchell, and Pastor Lorenza

(Lavondia) Mitchell both of Montevallo, AL. Two sisters Mrs. Brenda Reaser, and

Mrs. Clara Jones (Warrick) of Austin, Texas; Four Sister-in-laws Rose Smilely,

Margaret Smith, Yvonne Grimmett, Lelia Mitchell and Charlene Mitchell Atlanta, GA.

.                  Ten Grandchildren, Seven Great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin  and  friends.

Viewing will be held Friday, April 29, 2022 from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M.                                                                    at The Good  Shepherd.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11:00 A.M.                                                              at Shiloh Baptist Church in Montevallo with burial at Campbell Cemetery in Maplesville, AL.
