Deacon Willie James Green, Sr. was born to the parentage of the late James and Abbie Green in Shelby County, AL.

He confessed Christ at an early age. He was married in Holy Matrimony to Prince Ella Treatt on Oct. 9, 1955 and to this union five children were born; Pamela Denise, Willie, Jr. Cedric and James.

He worked for Dravo Lime Plant and retired after 47 years.

He was preceded in death by four brothers; Y.C. Green. Leroy Green, Robert Charles Green and Price Green, and two sisters, Mamie McDade and Annie Mae Price.

He departed this life on Friday, January 27, 2017 at his home in Brierfield, AL surrounded by his family.

He leaves to cherish his memories, six children; Pamela Denise (Mark) Lee, of Paintors, VA; Willie James (Chynthia) Green, Jr. of Alabaster, Al, Cedric Orlando (Michele)Green of brierfield, AL and Christopher (Kim) Green of Alabaster, AL, Sheron (Craig) Green of Birmingham, AL and Louise Gordon of Birmingham, AL.

Four brothers, Sylvester Green of Calera, AL, Tim (Barbara) Green of Akron, OH, Lewis (DeVora) Green of Atlanta, GA, and Roland (Gwen 0 of Calera, AL. Four sisters, Marie Hawkins of Alabaster, AL, Diane Green of Alabaster, Al Wilma (Michael) Gaiters of Calera, AL and Rosetta Green of Alabaster, AL. Thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren; Other family members Hallie Cohill, Bernice Threatt, and Sammy (Charlotte) Collins and a host of nieces, nephews , relatives and friends.
