The late Willie James Morris was born April 25, 1938, to the parentage of the late Mrs. Lila Portis Morris and the late Reverend Lewis Joseph (L.J.) Morris, in Aldrich, Alabama.

He joined the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church with baptism, under the late Reverend H. J. Jones.

He attended Elementary and High School here in Shelby County.

He moved to Seattle, Washington, where he spent a large part of his adult life, and then returned to Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Rev. Lewis Joseph (L. J.) Morris, his mother, Lila Morris, and several sisters and brothers.

He departed this life November 17, 2023.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his sister, Virginia (Earnest) Williams and one brother, Richard Morris, both of Montevallo, Alabama. Delois (Walter) Nelson of Chicago, IL He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and a special friend, Susan Allen, to cherish his memories.

Viewing will be held, Friday, Nov. 24, 2023, from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. at The Good Shepherd.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023, at 12:00 Noon at The Good Shepherd Chapel with interment at Montevallo Cemetery.
