Barbara Jean Staffney Bolden was born in Wilton, Alabama on July 12, 1948, to the late King David Staffney & Birdia Hicks Staffney Chapple. She attended Prentice High School in Montevallo, Alabama. She was baptized at an early age and joined Mount Olive Baptist Church in Wilton, Alabama, where she accepted Christ at an early age. She loved family, friends, fishing, and singing.

Barbara departed her earthly journey on October 4, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, a loving husband William Bolden, son Markell Perez Bolden, siblings, Eddie Staffney Sr., and Anthony Earl Staffney.

She leaves to cherish her memories; Four sons: Eric (Tasheka) Burns, William (Shantrice) Burns, Johnathon (Rachel) Bolden, Artice (Yeshika) Bolden all of Montevallo, Alabama: Three daughters: Sophia (Michael) Cottingham, Stephanie (David) Leak Montevallo, Alabama, and Erica Bolden, Columbiana, Alabama, and a granddaughter that she raised as her own Shakita Staffney, Columbiana, Alabama: grandchildren and great grandchildren. Brothers: Jimmy Staffney, and Timothy (Havlyn) Staffney of Wilton, Alabama. Sisters: Bertha McCarter of Harpersville, Alabama, Deloris Smitherman of Montevallo, Alabama, Cheryl Young of Bierfield, Alabama, Pamela Staffney, Tara Evans of Wilton, Alabama, Carolyn (Rev. Larry) Coleman of Montevallo, Alabama and Tanya (Wayne) Adams of Plantersville, Alabama. Sister-in-law: Debra Staffney of Montevallo, Alabama, Brother-in-law: Thelman Smith of Lake City, Florida. Two special cousins: Linda Carl Walker and Willie Mae Bray. Three special friends: Vera Sue Baker, Mona Lisa Devinner, and Emerson Naugher, as well as a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Viewing will be held Friday, October 13, 2023, from 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. at The Good Shepherd.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 12:00 Noon at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Wilton, AL with burial at Montevallo Cemetery.
