Mrs. Betty M. Abercrombie was born in Selma, Alabama to the late Susie and Odie Hill on January 31, 1954.
The youngest of thirteen children, Betty would grow to live an exciting, eventful and God fearing life. She would join the church early on in life. Betty would also join the U.S. Air force in 1980, as an Aerospace Control and Warming Operator. She retired honorably, to begin her biggest opportunity – becoming a mother. She would, in recent years, complete her bachelor’s and master’s degree, becoming a published author, NAACP Chapter Secretary, community organizer, activist, fundraiser, and distinguished leader.
Betty was not only passionate about life but faith and service, where she met her husband, Ernest Abercrombie. They would remain married for over twenty years, until her untimely death.
