Carolyn Harris-Webb Obituary

Carolyn Ann Harris-Webb was the eighth child of eleven children, born to the union of the late Warrick Rudolph Harris and the late Alice Elizabeth Baker-Harris in Piper, Alabama (twin to Roslyn). She confessed her faith to Christ at an early age and grew up in First Baptist Church, Calera, Alabama. Carolyn devoted herself to the Lord.

Carolyn was educated in the Public School System in Shelby County, Alabama and graduated as first honor student of her class from Prentice High School in Montevallo, Alabama.

She received her certificate of Business Math and English from the Milwaukee Institute of Technology and worked as a Business Analyst in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company for 24 years before retiring. She loved her profession and the people she served.

She united with Saint Agatha/Saint James Roman Catholic Church and served under Father Karl Zeuner for 20 years as a member of the Pastoral planning committee, serving in Kitchen Aide and the Annual Christmas Bazaar. Carolyn was the proud mother of Reena Webb-Wicker and grandmother to Aria Wicker, her bonus daughters Phyllis Harris-McNeal and Cynthia Harris-Wilson (preceded in death).

Carolyn moved back to Calera, Alabama in 2002 upon retirement and reunited with First Baptist Church Calera. She served as Church Secretary of First Baptist Church Calera and was a faithful member of the choir and President of the Missionary Society, Kitchen Aide and Usher Board.

Carolyn’s physical life here on earth ended on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at 6:11 PM. Her Spiritual life rests in the vast unknown above, to wait for life eternal with the Lord, whom she dearly loved.

She leaves to celebrate her homegoing: devoted Daughter Reena Yvette Webb-Wicker; beloved granddaughter, Aria Dominique Wicker of Calera, AL.; faithful adopted daughters, Phyllis Marie Harris-McNeal (Calvin Bridgett) Newark, DE., Cynthia D’Vaughn Harris-Wilson (preceded in death) of Calera, AL; loving adopted grandchildren, Isa Salaam Harris, Taniya Ann Harris, and Tytianna Amber Harris all of Calera, AL. Bonus grandchildren: Talia Nicole Rolison Columbiana, Calvin Wesley McNeal, Sean Christopher McNeal, Kyle Alexander Harris, Adam Jordan Harris, and Nicholas Scott Harris. She was preceded in death by her siblings: brothers, Henry, Carl, David and Joe Harris; sisters, Jewel Harris-King, Gladys Harris, Yvonne Harris-Stricklin, Janis Harris-Rayford, Ruth Harris, and her faithful twin sister Roslyn Harris-Gregory.

She was close to and lovingly leaves a vast host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church family. She cherished all her family both spiritual and biological.

Viewing - Friday, Oct. 20, 2023, 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. at The Good Shepherd.

Celebration of Life will be Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, 12:00 Noon at First Baptist Church 1616 9th St, Calera, AL 35040,

Interment- First Baptist Cemetery.
