Set’s Story
Cellestine Coleman Brown, nicknamed “SET”, was born November 26, 1926, to the late Wade Coleman Jr. and Minnie Lue Coleman in Overton, AL. Cellestine was the only child. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Johnnie Brown for 58 years. She was peacefully called home to be with the Lord on May 17, 2022, at the age of 95.
She accepted Christ at an early age at Freewill Baptist Church. In later years, Mother Brown joined Faith Dimension Church with her son where she served faithfully until her death.
She was a former housekeeping retiree from Shelby Memorial Hospital/Shelby Baptist Hospital, Alabaster, AL.
Mother Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Brown; daughter, Johnnie Mae Brown; daughter, Emily Ann Brown; daughter, Edith Earl Williams, and daughter, Alice Marie Clay.
She is survived by her daughter Bobbie Ruth Wilson (Jimmy Wilson-deceased) of Alabaster, AL; grandson/son Rodney (Connie) Brown of Alabaster, AL; Johnny (Pennie) Brown of Alabaster, AL; Valerie (Elvin)Thompson of Augusta, Ga; (special daughter) Daisy Hooks of Centerpoint, AL; 19 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held Friday, May 27, 2022 from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. at The Good Shepherd.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Faith Dimension Church in Maylene, AL. Interment at Galilee Cemetery in Saginaw, AL
