Brother Charles Edward Stacy, Sr. was born to the parentage of the late Hattie Taylor Stacy and the late William Stacy on October 10, 1936, in Perry County, Alabama.
He confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Peace Baptist Church in Centreville, Alabama.
On December 14, 1972, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Cora Wilson. Their union of 48 years lasted until Monday, September 27, 2021, when the Lord called Charles home.
He is preceded in death by six brothers (George, Jessie, Woodrow, John Willie, Will and Eugene), two sisters (Emma and Willie Mae), a daughter (Pattie Ann Stacy Ross), and a step-daughter (Andrene Cooper).
He leaves to cherish his memories: A loving wife, Cora, of Montgomery, AL, Six children: Wendy (Eugene) Hogue, of Indianapolis, IN, Charlester (Clyde) Preston, of Centreville, AL, Charles Edward (LeMona) Stacy, Jr. of Tuscaloosa, AL, Robert Carlisle of Boston, Mass, Helen James of Buffalo, NY and Jerome Harris of Cleveland, OH; one step-daughter, Mary Wilson of Tampa, FL; two step-sons Jeffrey (Cora) Wilson of Centreville, AL and Andrew (Mattie) Butler, Sr. of Centreville, AL; 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, 20 step-great grandchildren, 2 step-great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
Viewing will be held Friday, Oct. 1, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. at The Good Shepherd.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday Oct. 2, 2021 at 12:00 Noon at Cooper Cemetery in Centreville, AL
