David Calvin Moore. Jr.

David Calvin Moore, Jr. was born to the parentage of the late Georgia Merchant and David Calvin Moore, Sr. in Shelby County, AL on May 17, 1948.

He was educated in the Shelby County School System at Prentice High School. 

He was united in Holy Matrimony to Judy Moore and later in life they went separated ways but remained friends.

He enlisted in the United States Army and served for two years and received an Honorable Discharge. He then joined the United States Marines Corp, .and served four years and also received an Honorable Discharge.

David was a funny, outspoken, silly man. He loved his grandkids. If anyone knew him, he would just tell it like it was. He would go out of the way for anyone and would cuss you out any minute.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Jimmy Ray Merchant, Mary aka Josie” , Donnie Wayne, James and Ralph.

He departed this life on May 4, 2023, at his home in Birmingham, AL.

He leaves to cherish his memories Three daughters, Valencia Moore, China, and Jennifer Williams. One brother, Leon ( Gloria Ann)  Merchant and One Sister, Cookie (John)

Two grandchildren, Kreshonna Moore and Shontia Moore and other grandchildren.

Great Grandchildren, Courterius, LaDarian, TyReik, Iyonna, Cameron, and Joi, two special friends, Barbara Daniels and Rhonda Sanders and a host of nieces, nephew's relatives and friends who shall miss him dearly.  

Viewing will be held Thursday, May 11, 2023, from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. at The Good Shepherd.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, May 12, 2023, at 10:30 A.M. at The Good Shepherd with Interment at Alabama national Cemetery with Military Honors.
