Deacon Willie James Moore
affectionately known as “Doc to many, peacefully entered eternal rest on Thursday, January 2, 2020, at home.
Willie was born in Shelby County, Alabama, on August 11, 1934, to the union of the late Willie Haywood Moore and Alvenia Burns Moore Brown.
Willie James Moore accepted and confessed Christ as his Savior at a very early age, under the pastoral guidance of Reverend G. C.. Massey, and was a life-long member of Everdale Missionary Baptist Church. He was an alumnus of Prentice High School, Class of 1955.
Willie was employed by the U.S. Steel Coal Mine for 32 years.
Preceding him in death are: children, Willie Lewis Moore, Annie Mae Nix; siblings, Tommie Moore, Emma Mae Moore, Natha Lee Moore, Rosa Lee Thomas.
He leaves to forever cherish his memory: a loving and devoted wife, Willie Mae Moore; nine loving children, Mary (John) Moore, Imagale (Todies) Roland, Roger E. Moore, Rosemary Moore, Frederick N. moore, Phyllis (Alvin) Hicks, Keith Moore; David (Laquita) Moore, Leah (Eric) Agee; three loving brothers, John (Mary) Moore, Daniel (Polly) Moore, Elzie Moore; twenty six grandchildren, thirty five great-grandchildren, a host of great-great grandchildren,
Funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020 at 12:0 0 Noon at New Everdale Baptist Church in Montevallo, with burial at Montevallo Cemetery. Rev. Douglas Walker - Pastor/Officiating.
